AuditCleanse is a QuickBooks Online transaction audit and cleanup review tool for CPAs, financial controllers and accounting firms. It brings flagged transactions, proposed corrections, an audit trail and CPA workbook exports into one workspace.
Which QuickBooks Online issues does it detect?
AuditCleanse flags potential duplicate transactions, missing Class and Location values, checks uncleared for more than 90 days, out-of-sequence clearings and register balance breaks. Similar vendor and customer names are flagged for manual review, never automatically merged.
Does AuditCleanse change my live QuickBooks books?
Not currently. QuickBooks connections import data for review. Approved corrections update the AuditCleanse workspace and its audit trail; automatic posting of corrections back to QuickBooks Online is not available.
How does the QuickBooks connection work?
You sign in to AuditCleanse, then authorize a company through Intuit’s OAuth 2.0 sign-in. AuditCleanse never receives your QuickBooks password. Connection tokens are stored encrypted and access is scoped to the account that connected the company.
How are closed periods and reconciled entries handled?
Transactions on or before the book close date, and transactions marked reconciled, are flagged for review only. The app blocks workspace corrections to those entries. Existing Class and Location values are never overwritten by a missing-dimension fix.
What is included in the CPA package?
The Excel workbook contains an Executive Cleanup Memo, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, drillable General Ledger detail and Detailed Changelog. Choose accrual or cash basis. Final export requires zero unresolved flags and balanced books; a watermarked draft can be exported earlier. The workbook supports professional review, not an audit opinion.
Can I explore the app before connecting a company?
Yes. Create an account and explore the included sample client files before authorizing QuickBooks Online. Paid billing and a time-limited trial are not currently active. Contact support for subscription availability.
